Who we are

Warm local expertise, without the generic safari script.

Based on Arusha, Big 7 Safari Tours plans private wildlife journeys, Kilimanjaro treks, Zanzibar stays and locally guided day trips. We believe a strong itinerary is precise about logistics and generous about human experience.

Our role is to listen, advise honestly and coordinate the people and moving parts behind each day. We do more than organize safaris—we create meaningful journeys, unforgettable memories and a deeper connection between our guests and Tanzania.

Our approach to travel

Personal planning means explaining the reasons behind the route

Big 7 does not present one itinerary as right for every traveler. The work begins by understanding the people taking the journey and the conditions likely to shape it.

Local knowledge, applied practically

Being based in Arusha places the Big 7 Safari Tours team close to the northern safari circuit and the main gateways for Kilimanjaro. Local knowledge is useful when it turns into concrete choices: knowing that a distant lodge can shorten the game drive, that a crater morning needs a sensible overnight location, that a mountain route is too compressed for a first attempt, or that Zanzibar tide patterns matter more than a beach photograph.

We plan with travel time visible. Road conditions, park gates, domestic-flight baggage, ferry or airport transfers and hotel check-in all belong in the itinerary. Guests should understand when a day is mainly a transfer, when meals are packed, which services may be shared and what happens if weather or access changes the preferred order.

Personal without manufactured promises

A private safari can adjust to photography, children, rest and spontaneous wildlife behavior. A mountain team can encourage a climber while still turning them around when safety requires it. A Zanzibar skipper can choose a calmer reef instead of chasing a promised animal. Personal service means making those judgments well and communicating them clearly; it does not mean controlling wildlife, weather or altitude.

Respect for the places that host us

Responsible travel should be visible in small decisions

Wildlife first

Maintain distance, avoid blocking movement, keep noise down and follow rangers. Sightings are valuable because animals remain free to behave naturally.

Consent matters

Ask before photographing people, homes or work. Cultural visits should allow conversation and privacy, not turn a community into a backdrop.

Local work

Guides, drivers, cooks, porters, skippers and hosts make the journey possible. Clear roles, appropriate group sizes and respectful communication matter throughout.

Lighter impact

Refill where safe systems exist, carry waste out, leave plants and coral untouched, and follow property or park guidance on water and energy.

“We create meaningful journeys.”

At Big 7 Safari Tours, every route is an invitation to see Tanzania with more attention, understanding and joy.
